Rock type/lithology map
The most common rock types in Portugal are granite, phyllite, limestone, and sandstone, other common rock types are conglomerate and quartzite. There are also a large amount of minor occurrences of basalt though the map is too large to show them. You can find the interactive version of this map here or in links catagory of this website.
Geologic age map
As you can see the age of the rock usually corresponds with the type of rock, though there are some differences. A rock type where this is clear is phyllite. North of the Tagus is almost all from the ediacaran while in the regions of Portalegre and Evora there are many different ages and further south in Beja and the Algarve the phyllite is mostly from the carboniferous.
